INERRANT Releases Insightful Video Interview Series
Recently, a video interview series offering insights into the innovative work of the INERRANT project was released. The videos feature interviews with project partners who are shaping the future of battery technology through their expertise and collaborative efforts. Each interview provides perspectives on a specific area of INERRANT’s work from upscaling battery production, safer battery technologies, the environmental impact of batteries to battery sustainability and recycling.
The first video of the series featured Yannick Molméret from VERKOR, who talked about the key challenges in upscaling lithium-ion battery production to gigafactory levels and how these factories can facilitate sustainability. In the next video, Dorela Hoxha from PLEIONE discussed one of the main challenges of INERRANT: integrating Gen 3 lithium-ion battery technologies into safe and efficient battery cells; and highlighted the importance of the collaboration of research and industry to bring technologies to the market. In the third video Katrien Boonen from Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (UJEP) explored the key factors in assessing a battery’s environmental impact and how recycled materials compare to virgin materials in battery production. The final video featured Petr Marecek from IBG, who addressed battery sustainability and touched on one of INERRANT’s goals: to improve the recyclability of electric vehicle batteries.
This video series illustrates INERRANT’s holistic approach targeting the entire battery lifecycle and underlines the project’s contribution to sustainability, safety, and energy resilience in Europe. The videos provide valuable insights for anyone interested to learn more about what is driving the transformation of battery technologies.
